ISIENWENRO JAMES IYOHA INNEH
Ekegbian of Bénin
Nigeria
James Inneh, seventy nine years old, was formerly a business man.
In 1962, he was named commander of the royal guards, “isienwenro”, by the king Akenzua. “Asako no s’oghionba”( ants sting the King’s enemies ), was how the royal guards responsible for the King’s security, were called.
During some rituals, they glide around the soverain, completely envelopping him like an army of ants.
Few objects in my life have inspired me as much as experiences like travel or the emotions of falling in love - this however is something that is so elegant and strange that it almost contains an element of Future Shock. It is truly the closest a car has come to the personal expressive quality of fashion. The materiality and movement have pushed the realms of imagination beyond todays realities. All this from one of the last remaining independent luxury design brands on earth.

Recruited by the mad scientist Sruli Recht - we are proud to have Alex in the expanding fashion and craft sect of the KDU core. It is an honor to be surrounded by true craftsmen that merge the worlds of art, design and craft. As he world rushes to find and adopt new trends - true innovators simply produce what their heart tells them too and allows “the others” to rush by.
